We regularly inspect rental assistance units and THA-owned properties to help ensure residents have safe, healthy, and well-maintained homes.

The federal government has reduced funding at the same time that THA’s largest housing program, has become more expensive to operate.

We provide affordable housing, and supportive services to about 5,000 households, many of whom could not otherwise afford rent in Tacoma.

Most of our funding comes from the federal government, with grants and rental income helping us preserve and develop affordable housing.

Although we partner with the City of Tacoma on affordable housing developments, THA is an independent public agency, not a city department.
