Standing Steady: An Album Inspired by Poetry

Tacoma LitFest is hosting a Road to LitFest event at Bay Terrace on Saturday, March 21 at 2:00 PM.
A combination live performance and process discussion focused on the creation of Standing Steady, an album inspired by poems. Performing songwriter Allison Preisinger will share her process of writing music to poetry during a season of burnout and how changing her creative process helped guide her back into creating. This in-person gathering includes live performances and an inside look at what it meant to try something new creatively—what I chose to honor from the original poems, what I left behind, and the why behind some of those choices. Take a look behind the scenes of creating music inspired by poetry! There will be time left for questions.
