Tacoma Housing Authority has submitted an application to become a Moving to Work agency. We are competing with several other housing authorities nationwide who will also submit Moving to Work (MTW) applications. We believe we have a good chance for a successful application.
MTW status would be very valuable for THA. Among other advantages, MTW would:
Allow more flexibility in how we spend federal monies.
Allow THA to give incentives to families with children where the head of household is working, seeking work or is preparing for work.
Provide ways for THA to increase housing choices for low-income families.
Help us reduce costs and achieve greater cost effectiveness in federal expenditures.
