Salishan's neighborhood "core" located along E 44th Street between Portland Avenue and First Creek will be home to several non-residential uses, as well as two senior buildings.

In March 2011 THA will begin a community outreach process to get public input from Salishan and neighboring east side residents in the hope of bringing activities to the area that reflect the community's desires. Uses may include: public library, child care, bank, educational center, recreational and retail.
